Ms. Freire was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2007 and has worked in the mental health field since 2004, providing individual, group and family counseling.

Prior to starting her private practice, Ms. Freire worked at a nonprofit agency as both a therapist and clinical supervisor (overseeing other therapists) and helped individual, couples and families work through anxiety symptoms (difficulty concentrating, rapid heart rate, somatic complaints such as head or stomach aches),  depression symptoms (low self-esteem, sadness, cries easily, low energy) and trauma (due to abuse or neglect, bullying or accident).   Ms. Freire treated children and adolescents with ADD or ADHD and provided resources and interventions that support the child/adolescent and their parents while they learn to manage the symptoms related to ADHD and ADD.
She was trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (or EMDR) and uses it to treat anxiety (social anxiety or a specific phobia), the negative thoughts after abuse  (physical, emotional or sexual) or childhood neglect, and I target the negative memories after a car accident or even a death of a loved one or pet.
